E&SS to Hold Sealed-Bid Auction on Surplus Equipment

Rensselaer's department of Environmental and Site Services will be holding a sealed-bid auction of surplus equipment on Wednesday, October 17, with viewing from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the ASRC extension lot behind the Armory garage, and bids due by 3:00pm that day.

Additional bidding information

  • Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Inspection before bidding is strongly encouraged.
  • Rensselaer reserves the right to add or withdraw any item(s) before the time of sale.
  • Sale numbers will be assigned to each item and must be written on the sealed bid envelope when entered in order for the bid to be considered.
  • All items have been available for inspection and are being sold on an as-is and where-is basis, with no guarantee expressed or implied.
  • Sale will be made to the highest bidder.  In the case of a disputed or tied bid, the property agent may determine the highest bid or re-open the item for bidding to determine the highest bidder.
  • All sales are final.  No refunds, returns, or turn-downs will be allowed.
  • Each bidder will be provided with a bill of sale and will be responsible for paying applicalbe sales tax upoin registration in their state of residence.
  • The use of Rensselaer seals or insignias is prohibited for private use, and must be removed by the buyer of the purchased property.
  • Removal of all purchased items must be made during work hours, within a two-week period following the sealed bid sale.  Proof of ownership must be provided upon removal.  Items not removed may be forfeited, and the buyer will have no recourse.
