The Center for Career and Professional Development’s (CCPD) Employer Relations team has been strategically building partnerships with companies throughout the United States and globally. One notable partnership Rensselaer cultivated is with Datto, the world’s leading provider of MSP-delivered IT solutions. Founded in 2007 in Norwalk, Connecticut, Datto has expanded its global footprint to include offices in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Australia, China, and Singapore. They have serviced over a half a million businesses across 130 countries with business continuity and disaster recovery, networking, business management, and file backup and sync solutions.
In addition to the summer, Datto’s internship program, now offered in the fall and spring, fully integrates students into working teams. “Specifically, our Software Engineering Internship is an excellent opportunity for a student to work as part of a collaborative team on important projects,” said Tricia Jarombek, talent acquisition manager at Datto. Other working team areas include Software, Infrastructure, QA, Product, and Security.
To further build relationships with Rensselaer and our students, Datto participates in the employer partnership opportunities offered by our career center. “When Datto visits the RPI campus every semester, we are highly impressed by the students,” said Jarombek. “RPI students consistently arrive well prepared to the career fair and on-campus interviews – ready to discuss their resume and career aspirations and to learn about Datto. They demonstrate their passion and excitement about their area of study through their class experience, personal projects, and involvement in school organizations.”
In addition to winning numerous awards for rapid growth, product excellence, and superior technical support, Datto is also known and has received awards for fostering an outstanding workplace. “With a fast-paced work environment, our employees are consistently challenged and encouraged to offer new ideas. Datto also motivates employees through special office events, professional development, and comprehensive employee benefits,” said Jarombek.
Rensselaer’s CCPD Employer Relations team continues to work with several hundred top national and global companies to create new career development opportunities for juniors that align with our students’ needs-based interests including academic major and geographic location.
