FINANCE SUPPORT SITE

The Finance Support Site The Division of Finance uses a ticketing system to support campus with finance related systems and questions.  You can enter questions related to: Travel & Expense, OSCAR Support, Procurement Services, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounting, Tax, Bursar, RAF, and Risk Management.

Paycheck Distribution

Paycheck Distribution Methods

If you are set up for direct deposit, your pay will be deposited directly into the account(s) specified.  

For staff employees who receive their pay via check, your check will be mailed to you. 

For student workers your check will be available for pick up at the Payroll Office, at 90 4th Street, on the 3rd Floor, in downtown Troy. 

To verify your address information is up to date, please use the Dirinfo Service to update your personal directory information. Log in using your RCS ID and password. If you are unable to edit your address please contact Directory Updates for assistance. Please note that it takes 24 hours before any updates will display in the directory.

Direct Deposit

Individuals may make their Direct Deposit elections by logging into their Rensselaer Self Service account.

If you are unable to make your elections via Self Service, you may still submit a paper form to payroll.

Tax Withholding

Individuals may change their federal and state tax withholding elections by logging into their Rensselaer Self Service account. Links to instructions on how to do this appear below.

Please note that the IRS issued a new Form W-4 in 2020, and individuals must use this new version of the form for all new elections and updates to their current elections. Note that the new form differs significantly from the prior version.

Form W-2

2019 Form W-2s have been published to the Rensselaer Self Service accounts of those individuals who elected to have their W-2 forms provided to them electronically. Those individuals who did not elect to receive electronic W-2s had their forms mailed out to their permanent address in late January. 

If you would like to elect to receive your W-2 online, please read information on how to make this election and provide your consent to receive all future W-2 statements in  electronic format only.

Student Employment

Rensselaer offers a wide variety of part-time jobs for students, and any candidate for a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute degree who is registered for at least six credits may be hired as a student worker.
