Orientation and TA Training

All new graduate students are required to attend the Academic Orientation Seminar for Graduate Students presented by the Office of Graduate Education. Summer and fall entrants attend the orientation in August. Spring entrants attend the orientation in January.

Many departments/schools offer additional orientation activities. Contact your department directly for more information and your expected arrival date.

International and exchange students should also review the information for new students from the office of International Services for Students and Scholars.

All new Teaching Assistants are required to attend our TA Training Program, which will help you understand the details and the overriding importance of your role as a teaching assistant. All new teaching assistants must attend regardless of prior teaching experience or previous attendance at Rensselaer.
