Any candidate for a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute degree who is registered for at least six credits may be hired as a student worker. Rensselaer offers a wide variety of part-time jobs for students.

Federal Work-Study

The Financial Aid office lists the types of community service jobs available at Rensselaer. Jobs with an * denotes a Community Service position.

Campus Employment – (not work-study)

Graduate Students
Graduate assistantships are awarded by academic departments on the basis of scholastic accomplishments, academic promise, and competence. Research and Teaching Assistant positions are recommended by an individual faculty member, and will most likely not be posted in Handshake.

International Students
