The closest airport to RPI’s campus is the Albany International Airport. Albany International, is an international airport located 10 miles west of Troy.
If your student will need transportation to the Albany International Airport, the Capital District Transit Authority (CDTA), offers free rides to students with a student ID. Visit the CDTA website to find all schedules and routes. The CDTA website also has a convenient Trip Planner that can assist you in determining bus routes around the Capital District.
Your student may also choose to utilize taxi services to and from the Albany International Airport. The approximate fare one way from the RPI Campus is $25-40, but some variations may occur due to wait time, traffic, etc. Phone numbers for a few area taxi services are:

The Capital District is served by Uber and Lyft. Please note, Uber is not permitted to pick up at Albany International Airport.
Bus Travel

Megabus Service is available to/from Albany. Megabus does pick-ups from either SUNY Albany at Collins Circle or the Rensselaer Train Station.
