RPI Alert Update

As you may have seen on RPI Alert, a car was stolen from in front of North Hall on Sage Avenue last week. RPI’s Department of Public Safety and the Troy Police Department are investigating the theft.

The safety of the RPI community is a top priority. Public Safety works diligently to provide a secure living and learning environment for our community, and this appears to be an isolated incident. Crimes of opportunity can occur anywhere at any time. To help protect yourself, please keep the following safety tips in mind:

  • Report any suspicious persons, activities, or vehicles immediately.
  • Do not confront any suspicious person.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Always lock your vehicles and don’t leave valuables in view.
  • Always be aware of your personal property.
  • Do not walk alone. Walk with a friend or use the RPI or CDTA shuttles.
  • Use the 24/7 personal safety escort service by calling (518) 276-6656.
  • Know the locations of emergency call boxes.
