Summer URP Program Reminders and Parameters
- The Office of Undergraduate Education does not provide URP matching funds during the summer semester except for students enrolled in their Arch Summer term. Additional details for students enrolled in the Arch Summer semester are noted at the bottom of this communication.
- We continue to require all signatures on the URP application. When actual signatures cannot be affixed to the URP application, we will accept email authorization in place of a signature.
- Lab Safety Training – The Lab Safety Training course is accessible on Percipio. Students participating in the URP program are required to complete the lab safety training before they can begin working. The URP coordinator, student, and faculty advisor will receive an email notification with the instructions for accessing the training on Percipio. Please forward the attached Assigned Reading Learning Completion Instructions – Percipio PDF to the students. Once the student completes the training, they can print a certificate of completion and present it to you. When the training is completed, advise Aaron and me so we can note the student has fulfilled the requirement and may begin working. Applications will not be approved until the lab safety training requirement has been completed.
- Co-term students – Per the Provost and Dean of Graduate Education, students in the co-terminal program who have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree are considered graduate students. These students are NOT eligible for URP funding.
- Students engaged in their Arch Away Experience during the Summer 2022 semester cannot participate in the URP program.
- All requests to work remotely require HR approval and notification to the Payroll team regarding the circumstances requiring a remote work situation. Remote work outside of the United States continues to be prohibited.
