The event is free and open to the faculty, staff, and graduate students of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Rensselaer's Teaching and Learning Collaboratory is pleased to announce the 2024 Spring Webinar Session set for Thursday, May 9th from 10 - 5pm! We are very excited to welcome our guest speaker, Jonathan Brennan, who is a Course Facilitator for ON COURSE and a faculty member in the English Department at Mission College in Santa Clara, California.

The exponential growth of Artificial Intelligence has introduced a profound change in education. The CHATGPT & AI TEACHING & LEARNING WORKSHOP (limited to 100 attendees) explores the human side of the AI equation, discussing implications for both students and educators. We will explore issues of equity, bias, prompt engineering and the role of cognitive neuroscience in AI student learning strategies.

10) What are the criteria for effective AI strategies? How do I create my own?

Join us for this major campus professional development event and learn proven methods for empowering your students to achieve their greatest potential in college…and beyond.

Important Information

  • This workshop is designed specifically for our faculty and instructors on campus. If enough faculty members do not register, we will then open it up to staff. We are limited to 100 registrations. Therefore, if you are a staff member, please feel free to register and we will confirm with you as the session date comes closer if there is space for you to attend. 
  • The workshop is from 10:00am - 5:00pm EST on Thursday, May 9th. The workshop will be an online Zoom format with a 15-minute break in the morning and one in the afternoon and then a 1-hour break for lunch.
  • The workshop will not be recorded. This workshop will be engaging and incorporate break out sessions. We ask that you commit to the entire day session.  If you are unable to do so, please leave that registration spot open for others to attend. 
  • Once registered, a meeting hold link will be sent to you by Maureen Fodera, Instructional Technology Specialist from Rensselaer a few days after registration. On Friday, May 3rd, participants will receive an attendee preparation email from ON COURSE (be sure to check your Junk email if you have not received). On Wednesday, May 8th, the Zoom link and PDF of the workbook will be sent from ON COURSE to your email (be sure to check your Junk email if you have not received).
  • Please be sure to install Zoom several days before the workshop.
