In general, ten days of instruction will be provided for a minimum of 1.5 hours per day for credit-bearing courses.
Course and Term Requirements
While most courses will be offered online, some will be offered in-person in New York City and off-campus in Troy.

Housing
No housing will be available on campus. Students who live in the residence halls will move out at the end of the fall semester when the residence halls close. The campus will be closed during the Christmas holiday.
No. Students will need to make arrangements for the week or two that they are taking courses.
Independent Project Course
The Independent Project, or IP, is a four-week period in December and January during which faculty and students are freed from the rigors of regularly scheduled classes for flexible teaching and learning and for independent study and research. IP is part of the academic program of the Institute—the enrichment term in RPI academic calendar. Students are encouraged to explore the educational resources of the Institute by taking specially-designed subjects, arranging individual projects with faculty members, or organizing and participating in IP activities. They may also pursue interests independently off campus in coordination with their department.
Credits are determined by the departments, which may vary from one to two credits
The Independent Projects Course period begins after the last day of Fall classes and ends before the first day of Spring classes.
Students may sign up for the Independent projects course from October 31 until December 15.
You can start your project on campus from December 11 to December 22. However, when the campus closes for Holiday break, you will not have access to the Troy campus.
Financial Aid
Yes, loans may be used to pay for credit-bearing courses.
While no federal, state, or RPI grant aid would be available for no-credit Enrichment Term courses, additional loan funds may be availble for courses having more credits.
You will be billed $2,440 per credit hour for enrollment in courses offered during the Enrichment Term. Course offerings vary from one to two credit hours. There is no cost associated with the zero-credit hour course “Law School Admission & Careers.”
Tuition bills for students enrolling in the Enrichment Term will be available beginning on December 1, 2022. Students who register for Enrichment Term coursework after bills have been generated on December 1, 2022 will have a bill generated on December 21, 2022. The payment deadline for the Enrichment Term is January 6th, 2023 - regardless of the billed date. Be sure to access your eBill to ensure it is paid by the payment deadline.
