Parking Permits

All Rensselaer parking spaces on campus require a valid virtual parking permit that can be accessed at rpi.aimsparking.com.  All vehicles with a valid virtual parking permit must be parked in the designated lot associated with the permit to avoid potential parking fines.

  • Summer 2024: There is only one student permit during the summer ARCH term.  It is a summer residence hall permit and is valid in all NON GATED parking lots.
  • Academic Year 2024-2025: Available on August 1 and will be required for all early arrivals to campus. Please access your account at rpi.aimsparking.com and review your permit and vehicle information to make sure it is correct and to make any necessary changes, if needed.
  • Faculty and Staff: Active Parking permits will be automatically rolled over for the new fiscal year. There is no need for you to re-register for parking if you have a payroll deduction as method of payment.  If you purchase your parking permit out of pocket (Visa or MasterCard only), you will need to go to rpi.aimsparking.com and purchase a new permit. Faculty and staff will be given options limited by the building in which they work.  Any options unavailable mean that the number of spaces available in that parking lot have sold out.
  • Students: First-year students may not register a vehicle for parking on Rensselaer property. Your ability to register for specific parking lots is based on your residential status. Residential and non-residential students will have different parking lots to select from. Students have the option of adding parking fees to their student account or using a credit card.

If you have a Departmental (D) or Service Internal (SI) permit, please contact your department coordinator about the renewal process.  For any other permit or vehicle questions, please contact the parking office at parking@rpi.edu or 276-6616.
