Rensselaer Advantage Dollars (RAD) is the campus' “prepaid debit account” -- also referred to as a declining balance account -- and is accepted at a variety of locations across campus. Create a RAD account by clicking on Request a RAD Account link.
Make a Deposit
Campus Card accounts have no pre-loaded funds, but you can add RAD to the Campus Card 24/7. Campus Card holders can make deposits online using Visa or MasterCard, as can parents, friends or relatives of the Campus Card holder. To deposit money into an account, you must enter the Card holder's name and email.
RAD funds are available immediately after a deposit, and balances carry over until you leave Rensselaer.
Student RAD Account
The Student RAD Account becomes part of your Campus Card and is used for purchasing food or beverages at Rensselaer tax free (see exceptions below) and for obtaining a 10% discount at Moe’s ® Southwest Grill.
RAD vs. Flex Dollars
Flex is ONLY available to meal plan holders. Flex is part of your meal plan and need to be used within the academic year (Fall & Spring semesters) or the money is forfeited. RAD dollars do not expire and are available to be used until you graduate*. For more information on Flex, please visit https://rpi.sodexomyway.com/
*RAD funds are not transferrable. RAD accounts are nonrefundable unless depositor leaves Rensselaer with a balance greater than $10. Your bursar account is refunded the balance after the Registrar office updates your record as having graduated. That is usually done mid January for December graduates and mid June for May graduates and it takes a few weeks for the refund to be processed by our office and reflected in your bursar account. Community RAD Account
The Community RAD account is available to all Staff, Faculty, Non Matric Students, Visiting Scholars & Researchers (who have an existing RCS Account). It is used for purchasing food or beverages on campus, at a 5% discount, or at Moe’s Southwest Grill®, with a 10% discount. There are no annual fees.
RAD Refund
You can get a refund of your Community RAD account balance over $10 once you have left Rensselaer. You will need to email the Campus Card office and ask for a Community RAD refund form.
